This project will build a makers’ space to share skills between Viewbank College and the local community, especially for primary school students. This will support community engagement with emerging technologies like 3D printing, robotics and VR/AR equipment that will form the foundations of future careers. We will provide training and experience to primary school students in emerging technologies like 3D printing ,VR/AR experiences and robotics; training to primary teachers to develop a shared experience to their students; and offer training to adult learners (parents and other members) in the new technologies, giving them an opportunity to up-skill in emerging technologies.
Many of the future careers for current primary school students will be built around the use of new and emerging technologies, and perhaps even ones not yet invented. This project aims to build an opportunity for a broad range of school community members to experience such technology using very hands-on lessons and experiences. This demonstrates the fun of playing with these technologies, and that with a little effort, they can quickly develop their own new creations. Indulging their interests in new technologies in the STEAM space, regardless of their age or previous level of knowledge.

Goodluck VB College.
Hope the bid is successful a it would be a great thing for local schools and the community to be able to join in
It is a strong local community and educational strong schools. I have no doubt that the entire community will rally behind it and the schools in the area will provide very strong support to the project with long term desire for it to succeed and grow. It will work effectively and efficiently.
This project probably won't complete before I graduate. I am in Year 7 now.
Great learning opportunities created for the school and its community.
A fantastic project which can benefit the school and the whole community. Good Luck Viewbank College.
What a terrific initiative to get all age groups involved in STEM. Good luck
Fantastic opportunity. Good luck!
Often STEM subjects are seen as theoretical, and this kind of thinking appeals to a certain kind of student. The genius of a makers space it that it opens this whole world to those who learn by doing and making. Thanks to everyone involved in this submission. You lead by example.
I'd like my Year 11 daughter to have this opportunity, and I think it will appeal to both girls and boys because they will be able to apply their maths/science learning immediately to make 3D objects.
I believe it will keep more students in STEM learning to Year 12 which is what our work-force needs.
It is a great project very well connected with the community and so important for the future of our children! Well done Viewbank College!
Great project. It will create a bridge to our future generations towards technology.
Sounds like a great way to engage with our community and learn
