The Southern Metropolitan Partnership Region includes the local government areas of: Cardinia; Casey; Frankston; Greater Dandenong; Kingston; Mornington Peninsula.

The Southern Metropolitan Region is a diverse and vibrant area that includes the coastal and inland economic areas. It has the largest population of the six Melbourne regions at over 1 million people, or about 22 per cent of Melbourne’s total population.
