This project is vital for the community. We need to protect our seniors. Scams are becoming more and more tricky, even as a younger person I would be interested in this project

This one is a great article regarding awareness in the cyber field because this is ongoing issue and our whole future is going to suffer. Seniors are the most important members of this community and they need to know the facts and circumstances of cyber world. It is really good for their safety to know the loopholes and how they can protect themselves and overcome these scams.
Great Initiative by the writer. Much respect and appreciation

This is such an important issue affecting everybody. I hope this sparks conversations between all generations. This project should go nationwide and we shouldn’t have to vote on it. I look forward to seeing this scams awareness cybercrime project in the future.

Great idea, important for our seniors that may be less educated with technology to know how to protect themselves against cyber crime

I am concerned for my parents who have no virus protection and could easiely be targeted. This is a great initative that shouldn't even be put to a vote.

This project needs to look after the non English speaking community who also get scammed and I believe someone like Julie Mackenzie would be sensitive to these issues for these particular high risk groups that sit in the over 55s

Such a great initiative, the older generation is one of our most vulnerable in many ways, especially in relation to being preyed on by cyber scams. Information & awareness raising leads to empowerment of the elderly who can then take the neccessary steps to protect themselves. It also helps to address the silence that can come from embarrassment & shame which is often felt by those who have been the victim of a scam. Got my support 100%

A vital issue that needs urgent attention for seniors, me included.

This educational project is so important especially with the cyber hacks becoming more clever. We want our elderly population to continue forward to stay connected to their children, grandchildren and future generations, but they need to be prepared for a place they have no background information.

This should not be put to a vote, it needs to be implemented statewide as standard practice. It is extremely important given current trends in cybercrime targeting older people with limited knowledge in banking and internet technologies.

This is a great projects that I was surprised doesn't exist already. With the prevalence of cybercrime, this program will make a significant difference in the lives of both seniors and their families. Cybercrime is often overlooked, particularly in older demographics

This pioneering project is the futurist education that is much needed and considerable overdue within the community, for not only seniors but all; to develop multi-generational conversations about the seriousness of high-risk cyber crimes that are facing the world and local communities today. Young and old are being bullied out of hard-earned money, property, inheritance and most importantly their dignity. Manipulated by means of empathy, guilt, love schemes and being cat-fished. In my experience cyber scams are both reported and misreported that victims of these crimes are sometimes choosing to end their lives due to being unsupported and uneducated in cyber crimes. This is under-reported and underrated making projects likes this so imperative, when it is such a grave issue in our community. This project is the beginning of starting a very important conversation for all, I am proud that this project aims to starts with our most vulnerable and can’t wait to see this project be successful in the community and run state-wide and perhaps deservingly so, a nation wide program. Conversations that could stem from this project will protect my friends, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and significant others.

This is extremely important information that needs to be out in the community to help people, particularly elderly people to combat cybercrime. I myself have been hacked and have no idea who to contact or how to fix this issue and would love this presentation to be able to be taken statewide. My whole family is at risk and this is a topic not even being discussed. This is a critical project.

This is a fantastic project that is essential to all Victorians to help them understand the issue and danger of scams in the cyber world and how to minimise any potential risks. It is a brilliant idea and deserves the support of all Australians, not just the local members of Mernda.

This is so true. So many vulnerable people are being tricked and scammed on line. Education is essential to helping them learn and protect themselves.

I believe this is an amazing project for our community which also should be delivered state-wide Victoria, due to the lack of awareness and education on cybercrime for seniors. Well done to our passionate leading cybercrime educator, Jules Mackenzie!

An excellent grass roots initiative to raise awareness amongst seniors of our community on cyber enabled crime and the simple steps which we can all take to avoid becoming a victim.
