This project is an opportunity to build on the current 12km of mountain bike trails in the Mornington Peninsula/Arthurs Seat area. This will improve trail connectivity and expand the existing network, helping to meet the increasing demand as mountain bike riders are now the most prolific users of Arthurs Seat State Park. The new trails will cater for all riders, ranging from families and recreational riders to more experienced, technical mountain bike riders, with a variety of trail grade options (beginner, intermediate and advanced) in accordance with the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) standards.

Mountain bike riding is a great way to connect family and friends, experience the natural environment, whilst improving physical and mental health. It is an outdoor, year-round activity that can be enjoyed alone or in a group, by children and families, women and men, recreational riders and elite competitors. The expansion of the trail network will provide opportunities for increased participation, whilst reducing trail congestion and improve the user experience. It will also reduce the risk of illegal and unsafe trails within the park, contributing to environmental sustainability. This meets with Parks Victoria's philosophy of Healthy Parks, Healthy People.

Not expanding the trail network would be foolish! Mtb'ing is becoming so popular and having a world class park an hour away from Melbourne on the Jewel that is the Mornington Peninsula with full year round chair accsess would create tourism income and job's full stop. Lets be the leader for Australian Mtbing.

More trails accessible via the chair lift would make Arthurs seat a great alternative to Mt. Buller and the alpine region. Lift accessible mtb trails 1hr from Melbourne was only a pipe dream until not long ago. Let's turn it into a mtb destination!

My wife and I and our 2 kids absolutely love to mountain bike around Arthurs Seat areas, if the trails could be improved and expanded that would be fantastic and we would use it a hell of a lot more. Great idea this.

tracks are useless till you have a proper downhill trail built that you can get straight on and off from the chair lift from I know I could imagine us hoisting the uci World Cup or crank works if we just put the work in for these sports such as downhill and ***** style we already have enough cross country trails/ “enduro” trails it’s time to give us the name we deserve

Gets my vote even if I live 50 min away by car. The MTB trails draw so many people into this area for outdoor bliss and local accom/hospitality.

So much room for expansion of all types and grades of trails - especially with the Gondola operating.

A thriving industry that is creating economic booms where ever it goes, there are numerous examples of this and the Mornington Peninsula is a tourism destination, the two go hand in hand. Jobs will be created, money will be made, people will become healthier & happier.

The local mountain biking community is behind this project as well, as Lysterfield and You Yangs are the only two legal and large mountain biking networks in the reach of metropolitan Melbourne and how good would it be to add Red Hill to that list.

Lead from the front, that's exactly what we've been doing and continue to do at Red Hill.

A fantastic iniative to help encourage an active and healthy community on the Mornington Peninsula. This trail expansion will be great for the ongoing development of the existing trails, will ease congestion and improve the overall experience for all park users
