This project will upgrade the sports field and basketball courts which are in desperate need of repair, to keep it safe and usable. This includes: • Leveling the sports field • Replacing synthetic turf which has been damaged • Remarking the area • Fencing upgrade so that balls do not go into the carpark, the neighbours yards or the adjacent wetland • Basketball backboards repaired
This area is open to the public out of school hours. Many community groups including South Warrandyte Cricket, North Ringwood Football and Parkwood Tennis Clubs use this facility, (as do the general public).
School council has wanted to do this for several years, but it comes down to funding and it would be preferred to do it properly once, rather than to patch it up every few years. This grant is the best hope we have to upgrade this sports facility. It’s a big project that the school and the extended community will benefit from for many years.

Not only would the school benefit from the upgrades, but also a number of local sporting groups who use the school’s grounds. Not to mention the countless community members who come by after school or on the weekends to run a lap or shoot a hoop!

I have been involved with WPS for many years and the running track has been a pivotal part of the School. The amount of use it has tolerated over the years is incredible. The time has come for it to be refurbished to bring it back to its former glory. This will be amazing for the School and the local community.

Our family have loved and still do, the wonderful athletics track at Warranwood. It's great to see people using it from the community too. It is getting a little tired looking though.

The boys have literally grown up on the running track and basketball courts - they were one of the reasons why we selected Warranwood in the first place. To see these repaired to former glory and stand proud as the front face of the school would be so tremendous - not just for students and their families, but for the many community members who benefit from these facilities. It would be so wonderful!

Fabulous project to help the whole Community ...not only the School.......which is very important in its own right.
The school grounds are always being used by people in the general community outside of school hours to walk their dog, practice their games skills or even small children to learn to ride their bikes in a safe environment Warranwood Primary School is a hub for all. Lets help it to be a better facility for all.
