The need for emergency food is growing in the Baw Baw Shire, with more families moving to the area and struggling with the cost of living, with over 700 families assisted in 2017. It is forecast that in 2018 there will be over 800 families needing help. We wish to meet this growing need by expanding our current operation, with the construction of a mezzanine floor. This will provide a greater food storage area and a private room for counseling for families and individuals in distress.

This project will help many families in the Baw Baw Shire. We currently help over 2000 individuals and children by the provision of emergency food relief, with numbers growing. The project has many facets including:
Greater community inclusion:
- by providing food support for 1000's of individuals and children in need
- by providing an improved operating environment for volunteers; to attract, retain and provide meaningful volunteering opportunities
Greater healthy and safety:
- provide rooms which are airconditioned and heated (current no heating or cooling)
- able to store more healthy food
