Currently our older students do not have any play equipment to access at school. They are limited to a basketball court, small oval or general open space. They are too big for the junior play equipment and desire to have a 'Ninja Warrior' type of course that they can challenge themselves and each other on, build their coordination and strength, while also engaging in fun play! Our teachers (PE teacher in particular) would also be able to use this as a fun warm-up activity for sport lessons. It would also be great for team building exercises.
Currently our school's play equipment only caters for junior aged students. This leaves our students in year five and six without inspirational outdoor activity while at school. Old equipment had to be removed a year ago due to it being unsafe and non-compliant with safety standards for children. The area where the senior playground is desired to be located is at the back of the school bordering Ballam Park athletics area and the local football club. We could work with these clubs to negotiate opening up the back gates for families to use on weekends as well.

Our kids at Ballam Park need a fun, safe playground environment that will stimulate their minds and their cognitive, physical, and social development. It will provide our children with an opportunity to grow, learn, and develop.
