This facility will be used by Overnewton Anglican Community College for school activities including inter-school football in order to support the new women's football programs within schools. It will also be used in conjunction with the local football club, as a training facility for junior and senior women's teams. This oval may also be used for training umpires and as a home ground to host local Essendon District Football league games.
As women's football skyrockets all around Australia it has also flared the amount of young women participating in football. This boom makes it essential to keep up with the rising demands for facilities. Our new oval would provide high quality facilities that enhance and promote women's football in the western metropolitan region of Melbourne. The oval will bring together the local Essendon District Football League's teams by providing an exemplary women's football oval that provides a safe and inclusive environment for the women and their families within our community.

....And the boys can play there as well !!
Great project for the area, which promotes women's sport, and offers opportunities for many other uses of these grounds for the local community.
This initiative is perfect to help cater for the growth in women's football in the local community. A great project to support.
Fantastic initiative!
This is a terrific idea. Young women should be supported to be engaged in sports, such as footy, and be able to access quality ovals.
The growth of female football has created shortages in training time and playing spaces. A community facility located in a growing region would be beneficial to all
Extending the facilities available for the young women in our community to play sport opens up many opportunities for them to excel and build strong links across communities. A very worthy project
With the growth of women's football in the area this is a great initiative that will provide much need facilities.
