This facility will be used by Overnewton Anglican Community College for school activities including inter-school football in order to support the new women's football programs within schools. It will also be used in conjunction with the local football club, as a training facility for junior and senior women's teams. This oval may also be used for training umpires and as a home ground to host local Essendon District Football league games.
As women's football skyrockets all around Australia it has also flared the amount of young women participating in football. This boom makes it essential to keep up with the rising demands for facilities. Our new oval would provide high quality facilities that enhance and promote women's football in the western metropolitan region of Melbourne. The oval will bring together the local Essendon District Football League's teams by providing an exemplary women's football oval that provides a safe and inclusive environment for the women and their families within our community.

a great opportunity for local kids to be involved in sport
As a parent of a young girl who has played her first season of football, I could not support this initiative more!! We need more facilities to continue to encourage this increasingly popular sport among our youth girls.
we train the Auskick kids and my wife is coach of 20 young girls...it is such an empowering pathway for young girls.
I like this project the best!
What a great initiative! We are in need for women’s football ovals!
