This is how cinema should be! One of regional Victoria's gems. And run by a bunch of brilliant volunteers. It's a delightful old hall and needs to be maintained so it can serve local communities for years to come.

This project is certainly one that ‘falls between the cracks’. The road around the hall is used all day by the public and is in serious need of full refurbishment. Parking spaces adjacent to the public toilets are unpaved. The hall solar system helps to offset costs and CO2 emissions but cinema usage exceeds the generation. Finally the public toilet upgrade in 2014 did not include hygienic floor tiling. So we have a project in three parts – new and renewed bitumen, upgrading solar from single phase 5 kW to three phase 15+ kW and tiling the public toilet floors.
This infrastructure project makes the Swanpool Hall precincts more attractive to visitors and locals alike, fixing potholes and filling in muddy puddles. The floor tiling in the public toilets improves hygiene as well as appearance. Vehicles are coming and going all day.
Swanpool Cinema operates at the hall 10 months of the year and is entirely run by community volunteers. The existing 5 kW solar system works well to offset electricity usage but isn’t sufficient. An upgrade to a 3 phase 15 kW system would get us over the break-even point, helping to ensure Swanpool Cinema keeps on screening.

The Hall (Cinema) is also used by voluntary community groups, including SWANPOOL CWA, Red Cross, Activity Group, Landcare, for monthly meetings. The new road surface will also be much safer when walking from parking areas to the hall.
Swanpool has a great community spirit, and is very inclusive.
Money raised by the community at film fund raisers has supported national and international communities, including fire, drought and flood relief.
A most deserving recipient of this grant. Thankyou

Swanpool Cinema/Hall hub is a very popular community venue. We drive some distance from Maindample and very much appreciate this place of meeting people and shared events. Additional solar panels would be an important boost to the Cinema economy and refurbish of public toilet floors encourages visitors to Swanpool to come again. When volunteering to help as well as enjoying movies, the large puddles can be a challenge to navigate without getting shoes wet !
A very busy and diverse community minded program run by many local volunteers who need all the financial help they can get.
An important project for all the locals and travellers.
A great community project run by volunteers which gives country people the opportunity to see good quality movies at a local venue.
A wonderful community hub.
A community service well worth support
A wonderful facility run be an enthusiastic local group. The outside area is used by tourists as well as hall patrons and is in urgent need of improvement - rough edges, potholes and a "lake" for those entering the public toilets.
Operating efficiency would be improved with a greater number of solar panels
All very worthwhile projects for a vital community hub. And a very popular stop for travelers.
This is a very important part of our community hub
The large group of volunteers who help run community events at the Hall, that includes the Swanpool Cinema, work so well lwith a generosity of spirit and co operation. The Swanpool Hall is also a nominated place of last resort in this bushfire prone area.
Swanpool, part of paradise! Hall surrounds definitely need some serious attention. Volunteers are amazing, for all the work they do, but this project is out of their league!
This cinema is a valuable part and contributes to the states history.
It’s imperative that it’s kept for future generations. Maintenance is the key to this happening.
I love the Swanpool Cinema. It’s the only local venue where you can see Arthouse movies and it supports interesting arts projects in the region. Go Swanpool!
This place is a beacon for community connection and should be safe and accessible to all, all year round.
This is a wonderful community hub and deserves to be brought up to a better standard
A lot of work has been done to beautify the surrounds of the hall. The traffic to use the public toilets is constant and the road and drainage need to be brought up to the same standard as the park land surrounds.
More solar to keep our choctops cold.
We definitely need the area around the hall and beside the toilets paved as it's often a series of pothole full of mud.
The area around the public toilets desperately needs paving. So often I have had to wade through puddles and mud to get from my car to the loo. Hope some funding comes through for you.
To ease access for Cinema & surrounding area for the needs of all people.
Swanpool community doing something positive towards renewable energy.
Swanpool is an incredibly vibrant and hardworking community, their many innovative projects run largely by volunteers. The cinema/hall area is used constantly for a a wide range of functions. We don’t hesitate to drive nearly an hour from our home to Swanpool when there is an interesting event or a good programme at the cinema. More solar power would be great and so would eliminating the puddles!
A vote for the Swanpool Cinema is a vote for one of the most pro-active and community aware support groups in North Eastern Victoria. In addition to their great movies, they have wonderful exhibits - The Bald Archies and the Scrap Art Exhibition to name two. And New Year's Eve at the Cinema is NOT to be missed. The members and supporters of the Swanpool Cinema are most deserving of the funds from Pick My Project. From a Mansfield Resident (I'd drive even further for the things Swanpool Cinema does!)
The Hall and surrounds can use some TLC now to prevent it's further deterioration in future years; a great institution...
