A full upgrade of the tower at the National Water Sports Centre (NWSC) in Bangholme will ensure the building/fixtures inside and out are brought up to the relevant specifications including: • Repairing or replacing the floors, windows and doors. • Rewiring the tower, including an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) and appropriate power options on all levels. • Improving access and security including security cameras, secure access and security lighting. • Replacing the old and poor quality PA system with a new system and speakers so that everyone attending events can hear all information including safety announcements clearly.

A full upgrade of the tower has significant community benefits including:
• Supporting a wide variety of local, national and potentially international events, generating income for businesses in the area.
• Improved ability to use the NWSC later in the day because of security lighting.
• Improved viewing areas with views across the NWSC.
• Quality weather proof PA system will improve safety and ability to hear information about events on site.
• Potential (subject to relevant approval) that a local school/artists could paint the outside of the building to increase community participation and improve the look of the building.

This really needs to be updated as it is really vital to a lot of user groups that use the water sports centre for the announcements of all the racing that happens here as the floors are falling apart and are a safety risk and the security of the area is run down and the PA system is run down and may be needed for emergency services

The tower project is a must for the running and safety of events at the centre
A quality P. A is essential to enhance any event at this venue and also add to crowd safety and spectator awareness

Would be great to see this tower cleaned up, it has been an eyesaw in its current state for a while now.

A clear PA system would mean i hear all the announcers jokes.
I Look forward to seeing a community mural on this thing.

As a spectator for the drag boat racing it’d be great to be able to hear the commentary through the speakers and be able to get an A1 spot at a viewing platform. Sounds like the new tower would help the drag boat club and keep there wonderful events going!

As a Photographer this Tower platform is access to the amazing array of bird life, especially in flight, that inhabit the area of the National Water Sports Centre, also is a good place to get images of sunsets and events, would be good for public access, as most times the tower is locked, except when events on the waterways take place.
