Making a Splash - Community Pool becomes Indoor Aquatic Centre

We need this facility in our remote community.

Essential for young and old and job creation for locals

We deserve to have this facility in our town

This is a facility that is badly needed in Apollo Bay. It is also likely to create job opportunities, with hydrotherapy classes and water aerobic, swimming classes, etc.
Also these services are a must, as part of the rehabilitation program for individuals who have had hip and knee surgery - surgery that a great number of our residents have had or are planning to have.

We need a fully functional swimming pool with all amenities

We need this.....for everyone young to old!!!!!

Parents of young children will no longer need to drive an hour through forest to attend learn to swim classes.

Essential for year round occupational therapy and fitness, currently residents travel to Colac or Lavers Hill for therapy.

This would be a very important addition for young and older citizen to use in Winter and Summer for not only Health benefits but also Fun for all year round

The Apollo Bay Surf Club relies heavily on local kids to become nippers, in the hope that one day they will complete their surf bronze and patrol the beach (especially outside school holiday periods). However, some kids don't have the confidence to become nippers as they have never had the opportunity to learn to swim properly. Early years, learn to swim programs need an 'all year round' venue - a heated indoor local pool in Apollo Bay! (Travelling to Lavers Hill and Colac to learn to swim is just too far to travel once a week).

A heated indoor pool would be such a great asset for this Apollo Bay enabling many local families to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Will be a great facility to benefit local health and well-being

we desparately need an indoor pool for health and mental health.

An essential infrastructure which may well prolong some lives, and save other lives.

This is going to be great - so long overdue!

This would be a boon to a town where swimming is such a common activity, but cannot be managed when it is cold.

As an Apollo Bay community member and avid swimmer, I along with many others, would put this pool to good use all year round. The ocean is freezing for half of the year and swimming is an amazing exercise option for all ages! If there is an indoor heated pool to use...

Been waiting for this for years. Would be such a great community resource for ALL members of our community.

This project is a no brainer, in this climate having a pool that is not covered and heated is a waste of resources.

I think this a marvellous project to support . As a visitor to Apollo Bay for over 40 years , I love coming to the area and enjoying everything it has to offer: stunning landscapes, lovely people, the harbour etc. I believe this pool will be so beneficial to not only the extraordinarily hardworking community who initiated this project, but also to older people like myself who would be absolutely delighted to use the warm water for hydro etc. The recreational and health benefits to locals & visitors of any age cannot be denied. Great project worthy of all the support it can get. . Well done to all those involved .

Should have been provided by the shire years ago
