The Mentone & St Bedes Amateur Football Club has sports lighting for training purposes and wishes to increase the LUX to enable it to play a mixture of Junior and and Women's matches on Friday and Saturday nights.
This lighting improvement would also increase participation and allow us to field more teams over the various age groups, from Under 8's through to Under 19's and Women's teams.
Our proposal would allow each age group from Under 8's - Under 18's to enjoy one night per season plus a few Women's matches "Under Lights" and encourage members to support more teams.
By offering a game on Friday and Saturday nights we believe it will encourage local residents and club sponsors, particularly local businesses who are busy during the day to drop in and support the club which will generate additional fundraising through our canteen.

Great club for our community
This is a fantastic cause for a wonderful family friendly club. Night games would bring the local community closer together & with the introduction of so many new female footy teams playing at night will allow more matches to be played at Brindisi Street over the weekend. A win for community spirit & a win for getting our kids outdoors & exercising!!!
I love lamp.
This club is a terrific supporter of community and inclusive of both genders role in sport.
I support this initiative as it will allow more children and members of the community to participate in sport and be part of this great club. It allows the growth of womens football and provides more opportunity for utilisation of the ground.
It is very dark in most areas. I have suggest a project for better lighting in dark streets near schools, park, station and shops.
Fantastic idea
Great idea for the local community.
A fantastic improvement providing a place for our community to go and watch sport and get together for free.
light up the night for St Bedes Mentone Tigers.
This will benefit the Clubs 16 junior teams consisting of 12 boys and 4 girls team.
Fantastic initiative for a community sporting hub
A great improvement for a fantastic community minded club.
Great idea
Fantastic initiative. By great for general public security also
Great to see the work being undertaken to support men. women, girls and boys. Fantastic proposal.
A major hub for local men's, women's, boy's and girl's sports, both winter and summer.
Great opportunity for a community based club
I strongly support this project for the youth of our community
With a growing number of teams including the exponential growth of women’s football, additional lights are required in order to facilitate the additional training and matches the growing club requires. The club provides an invaluable community asset to accomodate for the health and wellbeing of a broad range of the community from 4-84 years off age.
i support this project 100% for the club and community.
With the ever growing number of people ( both male and female ) wanting to play Australian Rules Football this initiative by by St.Bedes Mentone Amateur Football Club is a great method of providing an opportunity for additional players. It is one of the few ways of providing additional playing fields for the young in particular.
Let’s light the night for the Mentone and St Bedes Amateur football club and support our kids to continue to be active in sport day and night
A club that goes to great efforts to support not only its own members, but the community in general. Better lighting will allow twilight games to be played for its every growing number of teams.
Given I live across the road from the Brindisi St Oval increasing the lighting will reduce my power bill as I won't have to have my lights on at night - Go Tigers
