The Club committee have consulted with members and users of the facility including the Kew Amateur Football Club and believe this project to provide unisex change room facilities is of a high priority. Our project will provide change room upgrades. One quarter of the 3000 grounds across the country are capable of hosting women’s matches, an audit being carried out by the AFL suggests, and there are fears the current level of investment is not enough. Our club requires such investment to cater for the needs of our female players and coaches.

Our committee recognises the critical role of sport in contributing to the health and wellbeing of the community and provides significant investment into the provision of sporting facilities throughout the municipality with adequate unisex change room to facilitate for the growing number of female football players. There is a great opportunity for growth for female participation and having the correct facilities will add to an increase in participation by female participants. There is growth in female participation in historically male dominated sports. We believe this project will contribute to renew facilities and ensure increased support for female participation in football.

Absolutely essential infrastructure that is needed immediately to eliminate the disincentives that currently exist for females to play team sport locally.

A very worthwhile project to particularly encourage more girls to both play and flourish with junior footy.

Unisex change rooms are essential if we are serious about supporting equal participation in sport. Numbers for female teams are booming so let’s encourage it with this great opportunity.

this upgrade is vital to not only provide appropriate facilities for our female teams, but to send a clear message to women that they are welcome participants in this sport and treated equally in the community. The growth in number of players is a clear signal for this project.

It clear that we need to support unisex facilities at the clubhouse to increase female participation. However, its not clear on what options we have for unisex facilities and I am not sure the girls want anything the boys don't already have. I do think the club could encourage more parent involvement and having an undercover viewing area would help.

It is fantastic to see so many girls participating in AFL at Kew Comets. To ensure that they can do so this facility needs to be provided so they can access to safe and clean change rooms.

An upgrade to the current facilities is required to ensure a safe, clean and modern environment. Victoria Park is a busy, vibrant part of Kew. It is important that there are ample change rooms for both males & females so that everyone has the opportunity to participate in the sport of their choice.

A priority is to update the facilities at this venue previously works were completed without considering the tenants of these buildings no input just built to look nice rather than practical use of the space let’s not do this again

Women’s teams currently do not shower at these facilities as they are not adequate for our needs. The men’s and women’s facilities are incredibly different and need to be upgraded to be equal.

In order to support the existing two girls’ teams and entertain the prospect of a third and fourth team in the next few years the facilities need to be upgraded. The current facilities are not sufficient to host other teams, and do not provide private shower facilities for after training and games. The scale and longevity of the initiative would be great.
