We have currently been operating in the South Eastern Suburbs for over 2 years, helping people on the streets and facing hardship in Frankston, Dandenong, Narre Warren, Cranbourne, Chelsea, Pakenham and Doveton. Not only do we provide free showers, but we provide a location where our Homeless friends can come for friendship, conversation, a laugh and to re-connect with people. Something that isn't always possible when you're on the street. We are wanting your help to allow us to finish the work on upgrading from a trailer to a truck, so our friends can get more privacy.
It will benefit the local community as we are restricted to where we can get, as we currently operate with a trailer, which does not give our friends the best of privacy as they must change inside a change tent outside and passers by can see them stepping out of the shower. We have 2 new locations we can go to if we get the truck, which we can not go to as it isn't fair on the homeless. It also restricts volunteers as not everyone of our fabulous volunteers can tow. The truck will be for everyone.
