Monterey Secondary College is set to become a centre of excellence in sports and health science. Provision for a NRL sports Academy is a part of the centre of excellence. The Frankston Raiders have their home base at Monterey Secondary College and many of the players will be future Sports Academy students.
The Frankston Raiders is one of, if not the fastest growing club on the Mornington Peninsula with around 200 members in just its third year.
With the current rate of growth and the increased need for training an oval without flood lighting has become inadequate to accommodate training.

This project will enable the Frankston Raiders club to continue to flourish with the flood lighting enabling all of the club players to access adequate after hours training time particularly during the competition months in winter.
The capacity to use the playing space after hours also opens up a plethora of opportunities for all manner of after-hours training options, coaching clinics and night exhibition matches.
Healthy active kids with close connections to each other and positive role models is a powerful outcome of sporting clubs and a flood lighting capability will ensure that more kids can get involved.
