The building has been used for > 65 years as a central community youth hub and activity space, as well as supporting the wider community by offering various education, meeting and training spaces, sports facilities and a versatile hall space used by dance, yoga, and recreational sports groups. To offer all community members with different mobility needs improved access to the facility, we require to undertake significant building modification, facility upgrade and refurbishment. Currently, the building and bathroom facilities are not accessible and therefore exclude differently able individuals. To improve inclusion and diversity this community space requires upgrades.
Upgrading and improving the building will enable a more diverse community to access the facilities offered, creating a more inclusive and supportive community that meets the needs of diverse local groups and individuals. Creating opportunity for inclusion is essential for strong positive community relationships. Improving this building will create more spaces for inclusion to occur, where young people of different abilities can feel welcome, cared for and supported.

65 years Hashomer Hatzair has educated the importance of social justice, human rights, ecological awareness and other relevant issues facing our society. With great admiration I see Hashmer Hatzair doing this today with kids year 3 to year 12. The building is the heart of the organisation.
