Backstage facilities are lacking at the CCT. There are only two toilets, neither suitable for participants with accessibility requirements, located within two, small dedicated dressing-rooms. Performers for larger productions use the Cranbourne Secondary College drama/dance studio and adjacent classrooms for changing purposes. New dedicated dressing-rooms would allow participants with special needs full participation in productions. Currently they are significantly inconvenienced or denied access to facilities taken for granted by others. Over thirty groups use the CCT annually including a dance competition involving 1500 performances across four weekends, seven musical theatre seasons, a concert band festival and five weekend calisthenics competitions.

Operating for sixteen years, the CCT desperately needs improvements backstage. All hirers, including theatre companies, primary/secondary schools, performing arts groups, calisthenics and dance schools, would benefit greatly from additional space backstage. Reducing the need to use class-rooms as dressing-rooms would ensure volunteers don't have to spend additional time moving furniture. These two medium sized dressing-rooms would allow for additional toilets backstage and also include a fully accessible toilet for the audience. Due to location, the dressing-rooms will take over the existing gym change-rooms and toilets. These will be replaced as part of the project, benefiting local sports clubs training there.

A significant upgrade to this facility is much needed by the many groups who utilise the premises every week.

Urgently needed for those of us who use the CCT on a regular basis. A great little venue for so many performances and events could be made even better!

We have been hiring CCT for 12 years. It is a lovely Theatre that is much loved by our dance community. An upgrade would improve the facility for extended use by the school and local small businesses.

As I am the president of The Aspect Theatre Group based in Aspendale we would very much like to vote for this community project as all local amateur theatre groups offer the community the opportunity for local residents of all age groups to come together in a non threatening and friendly environment to put together a production for all the community to enjoy and be a part of.

This community theatre caters for an area of all ages - the usage is incredible, therefore a refurbishment would be such an added attraction. Outstanding shows and other activities would benefit so so much if this project was granted to the Cranbourne Community Theatre.
