The Ocean Grove Collendina Cobras Junior Football Club (OGCCJFC) is an Australia Rules junior football club with 14 teams participating in the AFL Barwon Junior Football League competition, current forecast indicate we will have 20 teams and 200 Auskick participants in 2019. The club’s principal activity is to provide opportunities for junior footballers to participate in junior competition, and to learn the skills of Australian Rules Football, our ability to fulfil our principal activity is severely hampered at present due to inadequate and unsafe lighting. The project will provide an additional two light towers greatly enhancing capacity and safety.

Ocean Grove is a growing community and infrastructure provision is inadequate to cater for demand. The project will provide greater capacity for sport, principally football and cricket to cater for current and future demands. The provision of adequate lighting will enable improved safety standards and help facilitate growing demand for women's and girls AFL. The OGCCJFC is a highly respected volunteer led sporting club delivering a valuable service to the local community making a significant contribution to both the physical and social wellbeing of children and families within the greater Ocean Grove community.

It is so important that this facility is upgraded, the committee does a fantastic job of making the grounds well used and giving lots of the community opportunity to participate in sporting and community activity .

My grandson loves playing with the Ocean grove Cobras and it would be good to know the ground has good, safe lighting for the teams to train in the winter months

I think they really need the lights at the oval as the amount of children that play sport there in during the dark winter months of footy is more than what play at some AFL grounds so I know our kids needs this and so does the community as a whole

This is imperative for the children’s safety, especially during dark winter nights. This fantastic club keeps my son active and engaged in our community.

The well run club is bursting at the seams from demand from kids and families in this growing community. Functional lighting is simply required to ensure there are enough training slots for all of the kids and to ensure safety and opportunity for development in those training sessions, without these lights the kids are literally training in the dark on some parts of the ground.

Please support this project, with over 20 teams and 200 Auskickers making use of our Collendina Minerva Oval, our
lighting needs an important upgrade. It's inadequate and just not good enough for our
kids!!!

With the constant and rapid growth of the town, reduced parcels of residential land and rising obesity rates amongst our children, we must do everything in our power to ensure safe and appropriate facilities are supplied, specifically for our young people.

It's important with the boom of girls and boys junior football in Ocean Grove that facilities keep pace and provide our kids with a safe place to train and play!

new lighting needed to help ensure the safety of our kids when training at night. The club is a big part of our community and upgrades such as new lighting will help the club grow and prosper

Desperately needed. I have three children training at that ground where to often two or three teams are sharing only one side of the oval due to the inadequate lighting on the other

So many kids using this facility through winter
More lights desperately needed

Being a part of the junior football this year. Certain areas of the ground were in darkness during training nights which made it near impossible to provide a quality training sessions for the kids.

It’s hard to train in darkness

New lighting will benefit female football. Footy at all levels is booming in Ocean Grove and oval time in town is a fight. The OG Grubbers Women's team train at Collendina every Wednesday night over winter. Most nights we have to stick to one part of the ground as it's too difficult to see and dangerous in other parts.
