The North Central Flexible Learning Options (FLO) program at Charlton College supports youth who have disengaged from schools in Buloke, Loddon and Northern Grampians Shires. These young people do not have access to personal transport and there is no public transport to support them to attend programs. The L2P program partners with FLO and requires a car that can prioritise the FLO students. The car will support access to FLO, health services, supporting their attendance while building engagement in education and employment by developing their driving skills and providing a pathway towards gaining their licence.

Rural disadvantage can be overcome by providing opportunities for disadvantaged young people. Not having acquired a driver in small rural communities is considered 'a significant risk factor' by our schools and local business and industry. Access to an L2P car will connect these young people with an opportunity to overcome disadvantage and participate in education, training, employment and community engagement activities.
L2P mentor volunteers, community members, schools and the LLEN across our LGAs we will see young people gain confidence, skills and feel valued within their communities; creating stronger communities and a stronger economy for us all into the future.

Great idea for rural area where we don't have any public transport to get from one town to another. What better way to teach teens about responsibility and passion for life when they think life is against them. With the right people to drive them they will learn that people care about them!

Fabulous project in an isolated area. There is a great need for transport as no public transport is available.
