Youth Celebrations @ Bayside

Every school holidays in 2019 we are planning to organise a week long event at Bayside Shopping Centre. Events would include live music, graphic art, sporting and recreational activities focusing on connecting youth to services, local programs and employment and educational opportunities.

Events would give youth a voice by providing them with the opportunity to participate in the planning and organisation of events to express themselves whilst showcasing their talent. Through this involvement, youth will gain skills and build their confidence to improve their well-being and personal development.

We ran a similar event as a one off this year which helped youth to positively connect to the community. The event gave Bayside Shopping Centre a community feel by bringing together youth, sporting clubs, police, traders, service providers. Music, arts and sports activities gave locals the opportunity to interact and connect positively.

This one off event has inspired us to apply for this grant so we can run it bigger and better on a regular basis and continue to put on an event again that the community really enjoyed and appreciated.
