The proposed playground at the Wycheproof Recreation Reserve will be a public playground, utilised all year round in hopes of keeping kids safe and away from moving vehicles around the recreation reserve. There is currently no existing playground within the reserve, which is heavily utilised by the local Cricket, Hockey, Netball and Football Clubs both throughout the week and on weekends, as well as the general public during other times. In promoting local sport and community group involvement we hope that the inclusion of a playground and safer space for children will help the recreation reserve become more family friendly.

The inclusion of a sheltered playground area at the Wycheproof Recreation Reserve will provide a suitable and safe area for children and caretakers alike. On busy sporting days, the recreation reserve is busy with pedestrian traffic and moving vehicles, making children often hard to see. Currently children can be found playing in unsuitable areas whilst sport is played on the main fields. This playground will not only improve public safety, but will also provide parents and caretakers an attractive area to both supervise and spectate.

This project will benefit families who use the sports facilities in Wycheproof. It will be invaluable during weekend sport in providing a safe environment for young children.

This project is an absolute must as it will provide a safe, friendly environment for young children and encourage more parents (in particular women) to participate in sport which will also enhance the health and well-being for our community members within. This will also increase team numbers in local sport and strengthen the sustainability of our local, rural sporting clubs that are a hub for our smaller communities.

It's a great idea! Wish there had of been a playground at the Rec Reserve when my children were younger.

Will be a great asset to the recreation ground. I think it should be located close to the action of all sporting fields.

As a parent I have often wished there was a safe secure place to entertain children at the reserve. This will help so many families and add to the lure of our brilliant community.

What a great idea. A safe practical place for families to enjoy. During footy, hockey and netball season a fun and safe place for the kids to play whilst family members represent their local clubs. Well done to all involved.

As the numbers that are available to play in sport in small rural communities is declining it is important we have family friendly resources to encourage partipipation.
