To compliment an existing WW1 memorial erected and opened in 2015, this new WW2 memorial would complete this enduring display. Situated in our local Lions Park, and including a water pool ( our interpretation of The Eternal Flame- a memorial for conflicts Australia has/are involved in). Open access gives all locals and visitors alike a chance to reflect on those who served for our country. This memorial would be used to stage commemorative events, a great backdrop to all services as well as a great education toll for school groups, locals and visitors.

Sadly local honour boards have been stored away as local and small rural halls close. This is an ideal way to reinvigorate these forgotten names, bringing them back into view, with many locals having connections with those who are enlisted. Giving a visual aid to schools and teachers, to endorse to students the importance of these people's sacrifices. A quiet place to reflect. A place of honour and pride , free for all to visit. Situated close to passing traffic - this will encourage visitors to stop , explore and use the facilities and surrounds.

What a great idea for a memorial, well deserved tribute to all who served.

I fully support this submission in recognition in the memory of my 2 uncles that served in World War II.
