Arthur Radley bistro in partnership with Safe Futures Foundation, will provide real life workplace skills development for women who have survived family violence. These women will be provided with the skills to gain hospitality industry employment, self-esteem, financial stability, and a safe environment in which to learn within a network of support. Skills development will be provided in food preparation, food safety, commercial kitchen operations and service in a real time, supportive environment. Skills development will also be provided in all front of house operations. Barista skills, food and beverage service, and day to day hospitality business requirements.

Since partnering with Safe Futures, we understand the struggle following family violence. Often with limited English, education, and financial independence, these women suddenly become sole providers for their children. Local hospitality businesses also struggle to find dedicated, hardworking employees. Women are also highly under-represented. It is a natural progression for our relationship with Safe Futures to provide these women with the skills that (should they desire) will contribute to future employment opportunities, independence and security. This project will be mutually beneficial to both businesses and women in our community. 'Teach a person to fish and they will eat forever.'
