Winter Weekends Festival "Bathed in Light"

In 2018 The "Bathed in Light" project, with the help of small grants, has been able to purchase its own set of lights and ancillary electrical equipment to light up 8 heritage-style buildings in the township.

We now have the advantage of owning the equipment to meet our needs and be available to other community groups.

In 2019 we plan to further engage the community by having local home-owners and accommodation operators to light up their own premises, with our help by way of advice and equipment, so as to broaden the community involvement and really "light up the town".

As part of the Port Fairy Winter Weekends Festival the project will encourage broader community engagement to illuminate more buildings around the heritage town during the four, festival weekends.

Along with other festival programs, the lighting project has great potential to enhance tourism for the region during the winter months, which is the primary goal of the Winter Weekends Festival. Tourism is the lifeblood of the community and helps maintain Port Fairy's sustainable economy, ultimately benefiting all residents.

The project is designed to inspire locals to light up their own premises, with some guidance, thus adding to the overall effect.
