Where you belong

The activation of creative spaces in Corio-Norlane that welcome everybody, staffed by experienced artists from the local community to support collaborative activities between residents to enable dialogue, skills development and enhanced capacity for the community to respond to issues of interest or concern. One of these community arts spaces will be within a local building, the others will take the form of a portable art cart in the streets, community spaces, festivals and schools of the 3214 and 3212 community.

These neighbourhoods in North Geelong face significant disadvantage and are often forgotten in city-wide arts and community initiatives. This project will address a gap in the community in establishing much-needed facilities where creativity, social connection and skill development can flourish. It will support the people of the Norlane-Corio community to create and promote visions for and reflections on their own lives and hopes for their community.
