The 'Lion's Den' is located within the Geelong Showgrounds but is regularly used by a wide variety of community groups and is an important hub during the show. The building plays host to Horticulture and Dog clubs, Lions and Rotary clubs, Country Women's association, CFA, Vintage Machinery Club and the local Ford and Holden car clubs for their regular meetings and during their events. During the show the CWA use the facility to fund raise by way of catering and a section is used for the Nursing Mothers Group to provide a facility for a private space during the show.

The facility is currently in a state of disrepair so the current users have to make do with the current conditions which at times is difficult as the community groups that regularly use the area are either elderly or include children. There are limited free or low cost facilities available to these non-profit groups and clubs such as this one which is why they put up with the makeshift tea/coffee facilities, lack of sufficient heating or cooling and shared restrooms etc. It is a great location and size making it a perfect fit for the groups using it.
