Melbourne Bowling Club will open up the club to members of the community to bowl (barefoot/social) at no cost one day a week throughout the year from midday until 7pm. During the summer months the closing time will be extended to 9pm. The nominated day is Wednesday. The club will have paid staff on hand as well as club members to assist in instructions. Bowls will be provided. BBQ facilities will be available for use by the individuals attending. To achieve this we require to convert two small greens from grass based to an all weather surface.
As the Windsor area population is increasing as a result of the increased development of units either side of Chapel Street, open recreational space is at a premium. This initiative opens up an area for community access and enjoyment on a weekly basis. It provides an alternative venue to the local community rather than the local clubs and bars on Chapel Street with an emphasis on outdoor entertainment. It provides a structured but casual form of exercise open to all ages and ranges of ability and mobility.

A great initiative, I hope this project gets the go ahead as Windsor lacks outdoor recreation facilities that can be easily accessed by all sections of the community..
