A skate park in the vicinity of the bollards behind Jacka Park area will provide recreational opportunities for young people in Wedderburn and surrounding towns. The location will enable parents to watch their children of all ages in the one place as it will be located adjacent to the existing children's playground. The community rest stop is also nearby. The Skate Park will provide opportunities for young people to exercise and socialise outside of formal sporting clubs, enabling them to remain connected & active within their own community, whilst also providing an additional tourism experience for Wedderburn.

With limited public transport options within the Loddon Shire, the ability of our young people to access skate parks in other towns & areas is limited. Providing opportunities for exercise & activities, outside of formal clubs & teams is needed to ensure we have a variety of recreational activities available for our youth. The Wedderburn Skate Park provides a point of difference for Wedderburn, encouraging travelling families to stop & enjoy Wedderburn. The Wedderburn Community Plan (2015-2025) highlighted the need for this development in Wedderburn ..."Sport & recreation plays an active role in improving community general health, vigour and vitality."

This would be so good for the youth of Wedderburn. Activities like a skate park facility are needed for our youth who love this sport. It’s a very good way of all interested parties, socialising and interacting with each other. Which can include competitions. It will keep our younger generation fit and active also.
