St Jude's Primary School is hub of community activity for local families of Scoresby and surrounding suburbs.
The School's asphalted recreation space is used regularly by members of the community for a variety of outdoor activities including basketball, netball, volleyball. During periods of inclement weather the recreational space is restricted in its use due to safety and practical reasons. A large high-roofed structure that covers the recreational space would enable maximum function and safe use of the facility during periods of rain or high levels of ultraviolet light in the summer months.

The Weather Protected Sports and Recreation Space would create a wonderful and much needed facility where local sports clubs like the Knox Regional Netball Club could practice and train without being affected by inclement weather.
The proposed project would provide members of the school and wider communities with a shaded protected space to gather for community activities and events including the St Jude's Fete and after-school fitness groups.
Community groups who use the the parish and school facilities on the weekend would also benefit from having a weather protected gathering space for their use.
