Miscarriage Information and Support Service (MISS) will provide sensitive miscarriage information flyers and resources to every hospital/medical centre, and services in the Southern Region to support the community.
MISS will provide education/support programs to better understand the process of grieving, as everyone can react differently when faced with a miscarriage. Resources will be made available to the community to enable them to provide effective support.
Key activities:
-Printing/distribution of 20,000 flyers and resources
-Miscarriage Remembrance Day Event- Wave of Light
-"Understanding Grief" Program
-Community education
-Media campaign "Speaking about miscarriage"
-Healing activities
-Memorial site/plaque/water feature at Beauty Park, Frankston.
Miscarriage is not often spoken about, and those who miscarry usually suffer in silence as most people don't know how to react or what to say when faced with this experience. This project will have a significant impact by:
-Providing healing activities and linking support to help prevent mental illness
-Providing sensitive miscarriage information and links to support services (no other miscarriage specific information service exists in Victoria)
-Bringing the community together through "Wave of Light - Miscarriage Remembrance Event"
-Encouraging discussion around miscarriage
-Promoting sensitive responses to miscarriage
-Educating the community about grieving and how to respond to miscarriage.

This is well needed in our community. The more we can talk about miscarriage the more we can help each other to get through this sad time.
An amazing and much needed project for such an important issue. Heartened that this project will reach far and beyond to support all those affected by miscarriage.
An important initiative. Too many suffer in silence and need more support.

The National Miscarriage Remembrance Day event on Sunday 5th May 2019, will provide an opportunity to remember all of the babies lost to miscarriage.
"An angel in the book of life wrote down my baby's birth, then whispered as the page was turned, Too Beautiful for Earth".
Wonderful cause much beeded
If we have a limb missing, people can see it. If we have part of our soul missing, we are expected to carry on. Bless the women behind the beautiful organisation for understanding those who need you. xxxxx
