Waubra Lawn Bowls - Synthetic Surface

To construct a synthetic surface at the The Waubra Lawn Bowls Club, will provide a green that can be used all year round. At present, the facility is limited in size and a grass surface is not suitable in wetter months. The facility would be available to the public at all times. The bowling green would be used for seasonal weekend and mid week competitions, social, corporate and school gatherings. The activity of lawn bowls is enjoyed by a range of ages in the community. Potentially more inter club events and tournaments could be offered by the club.

An improved lawn bowls facility would cater for the growing interest by the local community. In the 90's the club's facilities could not cater for the women's competition, therefore women's involvement in the club has been limited. The growing club currently can't cater for all interested participants, due to limited rinks. The reintroduction of women's teams and the inclusion of more teams in the district competitions (due to more facilities), would result in more community engagement, a sense of belonging, improved participants physical, social and mental health. At present the club is having difficulty in maintaining the grass surface.
