The Waubra Football and Netball Club would like to improve the lighting of facilities as at present it is inadequate. We are concerned for the safety of players and coaches. Poor lighting limits training effectiveness. Approximately 125 players are affected on training nights each week (5 teams of approx. 25 players, ranging from under 12's to seniors).
At present we have one visually impaired football player who is unable to train with his team as the lighting is not bright enough for him to see the players or the ball. Spectators have great difficulty viewing the players while they train.

We are a disadvantaged rural community endeavoring to engage the local community in a positive community experience. The club is inclusive of players, supporters and volunteers, and aims to nurture young people, promote healthy lifestyles (physical and mental), and create the opportunity for positive social interaction, supporting all club members. Improved lighting will allow Waubra Football and Netball Club to train effectively in a safe setting, where the community can gather socially and enjoy the spectacle of training sessions.

Improved lighting will increase participation, safety and enjoyment of players and spectators. The local footy and netball clubs are the heart beat of the district.

You know the lighting is bad when players can’t train because they physically can’t see!

The poor lighting has been a on going issue for many years now. It's embarrassing to say the least and of course dangerous for all players training. This must be a major priority.

A great necessity when the sporting body needs to train in winter and also could provide a great night game feature one day if they do this. Plus add to any event they may have at night there.
