Water Fountains for Beechworth

Easily accessible drinking water is important to our health and enjoyment of life around Beechworth - fresh water to enjoy now and to fill our bottles for later. Indigo Shire has approved the installation of a limited number of water fountains over the next 3 years in their budget. This is a great initiative of our shire, but we need more now! This project will fund the installation of 5 additional water fountains in areas of Beechworth and surrounds that locals and visitors look for drinking water, for example around the gorge, on the rail trail and near the hospital.

Beechworth has shown that we can take responsibility for our own wellbeing and environment. This project supports our community and the other great initiatives that are already happening locally:

Beechworth Health Service is delivering a plan to improve the community's long term health and wellbeing, which includes increased water consumption, particularly tap water.

Plasticwise Beechworth encourages the use of reusable water bottles and the reduction of single use plastic bottles.
