The Sea Bird Sculpture Trail Project would be Southern Victoria’s premier Seabird educational facility where locals and visitors will be captivated by art and natural heritage with the determined aim of preserving the present for the future.

It would be a realistic representation of 20 large bronze sea bird sculptures, spaced at regular intervals. Connecting southern CBD to the Foreshore Promenade via Cannon Hill and Lake Pertobe. Providing an informative walk or bike ride along existing paths to be enjoyed at any time by locals and tourists alike.

Stage1: Pick My Project Funding 8 Sculptures Stage2: Local Funding 12 Sculptures

Project is a multi-role, community venture, covering diverse areas; tourism; education of the wider community in the areas of conservation of sea birds and the environment; the value of art in the community; school and art groups sculpture workshops in stages 1&2; issues surrounding community connectiveness, project owned by the community, benefits and profits returning to the community.
Community would acquire a display of sculptures that will blend seamlessly with council’s conceptual overview for the ocean foreshore area. Also have direct economic benefits to local businesses and adding strength to the regions tourism industry with associated community cultural development initiatives.

I really like this project. We need to engage and educate our residents and visitors alike of the wonderful birdlife, floral and fauna of our coastal city. This is great and is similar to projects I have seen overseas, it will enhance the experience of our tourists, just fabulous!

The only way a project will be successful is if they are among the ones to get the most votes in the region! Our region is huge and includes Warrnambool and 4 other shires.
Community support is an integral part of our country culture and we are hoping that people will share these details and encourage everyone they know over the age of 16 to put in a VOTE!
Thank you

Thank you we certainly aim to achieve all of these. Also, this project is stage 1 so stage 2 will further involve many more in the community, hopefully, the art community in Warrnambool will get behind this project

On behalf of the Warrnambool Men’s Shed I applaud your efforts to manifest a project of this calibre.
By connecting the Warrnambool CBD to our beautiful foreshore your beautiful birds will enthusiastically engage our community, attract economic growth and enhance the public appreciation of both nature and art.
This project will add to our natural environment and encourage everyone to take advantage of our magnificent walking trails.
As an important off-shoot, (by kindly donating all Project power tools and hand tools to the Warrnambool Men's Shed), you will be helping our senior citizens to maintain an active, healthy and meaningful role within this community.
We certainly embrace this community spirit!

Very excited to see a project of this calibre being put forward for us as a community to embrace. Public art does many things, most of which can be divided into four areas, engage civic dialogue and community; attract attention and economic benefit; connect artists with communities, and enhance public appreciation of art. This project would achieve all of these areas as well as connecting the CBD to our beautiful foreshore and add to our natural environment.

Wow, thanks Stones, I couldn't have said it better myself. I would love to see this project get off the ground, although the Sea Bird Trail it's self would be amazing, the whole project has a lot of workshops planned to support community connection and build awareness of the environment and art process.
