What a wonderful idea to enhance and combine our precious young people and to really put some gold into the golden years of our wonderful older people. Good luck.

To ensure a range of small and large communities had the opportunity to be part of Pick My Project, no more than 50 per cent of a regional partnership areas funding was awarded to one local government area (LGA). As a result this project was unsuccessful.

Cycling Without Age is a program developed in Europe and spreading around the world. We are aiming to be one of the first communities to establish this unique program between schools, aged care residents and local community groups collaboratively in our community. Partnering initially between students and staff at Emmanuel College, residents at Lyndoch Living and Mercy Place, Cycling Without Age - Warrnambool will provide access for students and community volunteers to connect with residents wishing to feel the wind through their hair cruising the community on custom made Trio bikes.
Social isolation and loneliness can be a difficult issue to deal with, especially when your ability to get out and about is limited. The aim for our project is to connect local students in partnership with members of our community who may not easily or regularly have access to getting out and about with a visitor or friend. Equally the program encourages young people to see the benefits of being social and physically active (as 'pilots' of the taxis) and build their sense of social connectedness within the wider community.

Such an exciting project, as someone who works in Aged Care, there needs to be more projects like this
What a great project - a way to connect with the elders of our community whilst participating in healthy exercise
Im so excited about this project. What a great initiative. Really forward thinking and great for connecting all the community.
This is a fantastic project.
What a great way of connecting different generations together while having fun and enjoying being part of the ‘outside’ community.
The bringing together of Students and Elders in a healthy physical activity that creates many opportunities of learning for the Students, whilst offering a pathway for Elders who live in Care to stay connected to the Community of which they are a very important part of.
Great undertaking by these students. Such a positive project involving students and aged care residents.
