Walkers Lake development will include the addition of facilities designed to enhance and protect the natural environment, and improved recreational use. The development will include areas dedicated to day visitors, picnic areas, car parking for cars & boat trailers, campsites and amenities. The local schools and kindergartens will design facilities (such as a camp kitchen) to enable new programs to use the site such as outdoor, cultural and heritage education programs and bush kinder. The project will be sensitive to everyone's needs, to ensure that the natural beauty of Walkers Lake is protected.
St Arnaud and local residents are connected to Walkers Lake as their recreational lake. To ensure that the lake and natural environment is protected, the lake requires development to ensure users have the facilities, amenities and spaces dedicated to particular use - camping, fishing, bush walking, cultural experience, skiing, education and swimming. The project will be overseen by the Walkers Lake Advisory group who advise Northern Grampians Shire Council on the management of the Lake. This development will make Walkers Lake the truly spectacular experience for locals of all ages, as a natural hub to connect together.

Walkers lake is a picturesque spot in the middle of a farming community. It holds many memories of years spent with family and friends enjoying the attractions the lake offers. To see further developement would be a further asset to the lake and the area as a whole and invite more people to the area to invest in the community.

walkers lake is one of the few recreational lakes left in the donald/st arnaud area, and would be an amazing facility with a few well thought out environmentally considered upgrades. good luck with the submission and i look forward to utilizing this lovely spot again this summer
