The East Warburton Community Playgroup started November 2017. The group formed because families with young children were feeling socially isolated and disconnected from their community. The group is growing with 8 families attending each week and has moved from the Millwarra East Primary School across to the East Warburton Hall for a permanent space. This space needs an urgent facility upgrade to ensure it is child friendly, safe, with heating and cooling. They need equipment, storage, seating, playground upgrade and BBQ for community use. The Playgroup will run twice weekly with monthly parent education and cooking sessions provided by services.

The Facility and Equipment Upgrade for East Millwarra Community Playgroup at the East Warburton Public Hall will directly benefit the local families with young children (0-6 years). The Hall improvements will also benefit the wider Reefton to Warburton community, because apart from the Primary School, the Hall is the only community building in the area. The Hall will be warm in winter and cool in summer. The upgrade will create a community hub for all residents that is family friendly and accessible for different interest groups; E.g. Cooking Groups, Courses, School Activities, Events, Community Gatherings, Parent Education.
