Upgrading the Edenhope Men's Shed

Many people, both members and non-members, have expressed an interest in the Men's Shed expanding into Metalwork. Presently there is insufficient room to do this and we want to enclose the area behind the people in the photo. This area will be the metalshop with a lathe, cold-forming, cutting and welding equipment. The metalshop will only be used by members, however, there are many people in the area with the relevant skills. It is hoped that our project will significantly increase our membership. Key activities will include but are not limited to machinery repair, welding, tooling and other projects.

The social and mental health benefits to the members of Men's Sheds are well-known and documented. Edenhope Men's Shed has a slowly declining membership and our project aims to reverse this trend. By increasing our membership and capabilities, we believe that both the community and our members will reap the rewards. Community beneficiaries thus far include Edenhope Library, Local Council, Arts Centre, Community Garden, the local schools, the Visitor's Centre and an Aged Care facility.
