Your vote can help us create an incredible space for young people and local families at Sandfield Reserve in Carrum Downs. The existing skatepark is already used by skaters and BMX and scooter riders of all ages. Our vision, backed by heaps of local young people, with Frankston Council support, is to expand the park and put in extra skater elements for added challenge and enjoyment. Filling in the dirt areas around the track will increase safety and help us protect our equipment. And increasing shade structures and seating, together with bins and drinking taps will finish off our dream.
We're a group of students from the local high school, Carrum Downs Secondary College. Please help us achieve our dream to upgrade our local skatepark at Sandfield Reserve for the enjoyment of so many local young people and families in Carrum Downs. The existing skatepark is good. But we can make it so much better, safer and user friendly. Making sure more young people in Carrum Downs get out and exercise and socialise together in a safe and friendly place.

Needs a shelter that can block the wind out . So you can watch the kids scooter bike or skate . And park should be double or triple the size to suit advanced riders and beginners such as Chelsea and Noble park skateparks
Wondrrful for our youth to engage with their peers
This would be a great improvement to the community and help the youth mingle
Just do something worth while. Council renovate park at en of my street for the size of 2 year olds. Look beautiful but is useless. Up note for us is that the park is quieter now!
This park will be worth while

Yes please help the youth enjoy their local SK8 park. These social areas can change lives in a very positive way.
I want to have a rant, so excuse me and try and keep up.
I have been evolved in freestyle sports for 20 yrs and have seen how focused it can make young people. They get so excited learning a trick with friends and strangers alike and cannot wait for the sun to come up to do it all again.
SK8 parks get a bad rap but I can tell you 99% of trouble, broken bottle, rubbish and graffiti is done by non-riders. We love our SK8 parks and we stand together when somebody is trashing our spot. Some of you think ***** and alcohol are a problem at SK8 parks, again not buy riders as we are so into our sport and we must be focused or we would get hurt very badly.
As an Adult well experienced level BMX trick rider, this park has many design faults. (What happened to the old park?)
Triangle shape as wide as a foot path? WHAT! The last curved ramp is incomplete and sends you straight in to the sand. The riders have to turn around at the end and crash into on coming riders. It is so narrow and scooter riders stand on the jumps which make it blocked for anybody wanting to jump over because they have no where to stand on the side.
Poor skateboarders are always getting sand in their wheel bearings because every time they miss a trick the board goes it the sand. No rails and no flat trick areas because this place is a footpath not a SK8 park.
$200,000 for what? I heard the design fee is $200,000 before build. BULLDUST
What is the real cost somebody? I could buy 100 bags of cement and fill in the middle for a few thousand dollars.
Please give the kids a cool SK8 park they could be proud of and invite strangers from other areas to visit from time to time.
I could go on but where do the kids put their rubbish? NOOOO BINS! Are we teaching them to fill the world with rubbish. Some days there is rubbish all around the walking paths and school fence because they have no where to place it.
Please support the brave young men that have spoken up and have been trying to get an upgrade to this park. They have sent emails and written letters and even spoken to council officials. They have put a lot of time and effort for over a year. Good on you fellas.
