The need to occasionally relax in a natural Bush Environment is within all of us. The grandeur and beauty of the bush has a fascination all its own, and it can make you forget the worry and the stress of the weeks work. An often used expression is to 'get your batteries recharged'. Victoria's Parks provide this ideal environment and, provided some basic requirements are met, are the perfect environment to recoup your energies. Today these expectations include reasonable access, Toilet and Washing facilities, informative signage and the sense of security given by a public facility.

Kurth Kiln Regional Park is a well-known tourism attraction. With it over 100km of well maintained walking tracks it attracts not only people from the local communities, but groups of bushwalkers from all over Victoria. Its Public Picnic/Camping Grounds even allow you to bring your horse and go riding in the Park. With increasing public awareness comes greater usage and today some of the facilities considered adequate five years age when the sites were created, are no longer coping with the increased traffic and need to be upgraded. This is what this project is all about.

What a great place for all to enjoy
Kurth kiln offers outdoor recreation to all ,at no cost .There are no many places in so close to Melbourne ,where you can camp ,walk your dog ,ride your horse, learn a little history and still be home for tea
But like all things it needs a little help with facilities

This stimulating bush environment is ready for seating and toilet installations in new locations that give car, float and camping sites. It would be informative if signage giving species, age etc of vegetation and fauna could be placed along specific tracks for families to access.

A peaceful, relaxing bush environment. Plenty of walking tracks in good condition, but new and upgraded picnic and camping facilities would improve the area greatly.

A great natural area so close to suburbia. Facilities are good but some upgrades badly needed. AN AREA THAT/ ENCOURAGES FAMILIES TO GET OUT AND ENJOY NATURE.

A great place to get away from the city, live with some wild life and clean air

Given that these bush camping facilities are so close to Melbourne (and even closer to the South Eastern Urban Growth Corridor), and given they exist within a large forested area where native plants and animals still abound. (despite DELWP's best attempts to destroy them through inappropriate fire regimes), it is not surprising that they have become under much pressure recently from increased patronage. An upgrade sorely needed.

Lovely park - so close to Melbourne - well worth the effort of an upgrade.

Scout Loop Track definitely needs to be upgraded to cope with the amount of heavy traffic using it these days, like Caravans and Campervans, Four Wheel Drives with Trailers and Horse Floats.
As the name suggests, it is basically just a walking track.

This will greatly help the many tourists coming to Kurth Kiln Regional Park. Better access to camping sites and better facilities for all picnicking and camping activities.

A great asset so close to Melbourne. I come here often, as do many others, to enjoy bush camping. I can see that there is a need for more fireplaces, picnic tables and toilet facilities.
