Upgrade of the Ballarat Polocrosse grounds

The Ballarat Polocrosse Club is hoping to hold the 2020 Australian Polocrosse Nationals at our local grounds. To be able to hold this event, we need to meet the criteria. We are required to upgrade our 7 fields.

Polocrosse is an exciting, fast and hard sport and having adequate grounds is imperative. Horse welfare is our number 1 priority!

The Ballarat Polocrosse grounds are the home of Polocrosse in Victoria. Its previously held the 2010 Australian National Championships, many Victorian Championship and club carnivals across the year. We need to continue to bring these National and State competitions to Ballarat.

If we are successful in upgrading our grounds and hosting the 2020 Australian Polocrosse Nationals, it can bring upwards of $8million into our local economy.

Players not only come with horses from all over Australia, but they bring with them supporters, family and friends. They use a variety of local businesses including hotels, supermarkets, cafe's and tourist attractions.

Throughout the year the grounds are also used for other horse events, for example The Ballarat Show, Medieval festival, Ballarat Rodeo, as well as many Polocrosse related events including tournaments, coaching, training days/weekends and women's retreats for our hundreds of members.
