We intend to up-cycle and recycle urban waste. Our intended goal is to focus our work in the Urbanized Western Suburbs then to establish a self-sustaining operation in approximately 12 months’ time.
Urban waste is comprised of food scraps, old fences, coffee grounds and waste along these lines.
After they are collected they are transformed into useable resources for the community. We want to initiate this program to up-cycle Urban waste, then we can reduce our waste output in our community and extend the useful-life of our landfills and this will hopefully, in time, reduce our environmental footprint.
Our project will benefit the local community by offering:
- Local employment.
- Awareness and education opportunities on Urban Waste aspects.
- Relief to the already heavily burdened landfills.
- Reduction of our carbon footprint by using electric bicycles as a mode of transportation for collection of the urban waste from the community.
- Re-socialisation for the long term unemployed or individuals who suffer mental health issues through a voluntary participation program with local community centers.
- Utilisation of urban waste including vacant buildings.
