Previously home to the Northern Men's Shed (NMS) this space has always served as a community space. With the vacation of NMS there's a great transformation opportunity. A community survey in May reaching over 800 residents indicated clear support for a multipurpose community hub. Key activities proposed:
-Activity/games room (table tennis, pool, tv/gaming)
-Art classes/gallery space
-Co-working/meeting spaces
-Group learning activities
-Cinema/casual ‘event’ space
-Youth retreat
Managed by Club Trillium, the hub will be accessed by: all Trillium residents, friends and family members; local community/clubs/social groups. The hub's use will be a flexible multipurpose space with programmed activities.
Empowering neighbourhoods by connecting local families & residents; providing a ‘neutral’ destination from grassroots community-led approach will strengthen the social fabric and connections beyond programmed activities.
Hubs are recognised as leading models supporting culturally diverse communities delivering services and activities currently unavailable. The survey confirmed many residents were also seeking opportunities to volunteer and become ‘actively’ involved in their community. The multipurpose nature of this hub will provide a range of opportunities for people to volunteer, lead and participate, breaking down social isolation.
Principally this is about supporting social inclusion and mental health through accessible place-based activities for decades.

An activity/games room would be a great idea for the teens/older kids in the estate
Would be great as a pop up cafe like Merrifield has
This space will provide opportunities for people to use this space from all walks of life.
