This is a fantastic club with awesome community values. The ability to train and play after dark games when the nights are so long during the season would make a huge impact and enable even more kids to get the benefits this club delivers.

Our second oval is unused after 5pm during the non-daylight-savings months for both footy and, to a lesser extent, cricket (Le Page Park Cricket Club) at the start and end of its seasons. With the installation of lights, we will be able to accommodate the growing number of kids of both genders to train as well as play matches in the evenings during these months. At the moment we all cram into the one over used lit up oval.
The growing number of kids will be able to train and play evening matches. As compared to cramming into one lit up oval that is being overused and in poor condition at times. The lit up oval would be made available to other local junior and senior clubs to play evening matches at the oval. Players, spectators, officials, volunteers all prefer and get greater satisfaction at playing matches in the evenings. All this assists in increasing participation in active sport from which the individuals and community reaps the benefits of physical activity, community and social inclusion, networking, self-esteem.

The club keeps growing and they need to be able train kids safely, not in the dark!!
Such an exciting project. I can just imagine the fun nights we will be able to have with our families and friends, cheering and supporting each other on.
This would be a fantastic project to get over the line as a much needed benefit for years to come.
Lets help to keep our kids active and interact with real people rather than being glued to a screen.
I coach my boys on Wednesday afternoon's, straight after school - 4pm. By the time we finish training (5:30pm) in the middle of winter we are training in the dark. It's an OH&S issue for players, coaches and parent helpers. With the advent of girls football and the increase in the number of teams that need to train, it is more vital than ever that there be enough time, on enough grounds, to train. Let's keep promoting exercise and sport amongst our kids in an era so dominated by screens!
Much needed for the club
“Let there be Light”!!!!!
Please support this fantastic junior football club in providing much needed lighting to the 2nd oval.
The growth of girls participation is exciting and is contributing to the growth of this successfully managed club. We need to use our sporting spaces more effectively and making the second oval usable for evening training and games makes great sense. The number of teams the club is fielding each year is growing, and lighting the second oval will benefit more than 800 players each year.
Lights on oval 2 will be an enabler for this great community club to continue to expand and provide a safe and first class facility for our boys and girls to learn and play football.
With the rapid growth of the Chelt Panthers (especially girls teams) we are running out of training space (especially in the dark winter months). Lighting would help support our active kids with a safe training environment.
These lights would prove to be a great asset for the future growth of a great junior sporting club
Please give the boys and girls we coach at this wonderful club a chance to grow. it has been almost impossible trying to coach them in the dark.
It has been difficult trying to coach our footy players of the future on this oval in the depths of winter due to the lack of lighting.
Please support our kids and give them the opportunity they deserve at this growing junior club!
Cheltenham Panthers are a great community club, please support the club and their kids by giving them the opportunity to train under better conditions.
This is important so our kids can all enjoy playing later at night and feel safe!
Our growing club needs a second oval for training. Please help the kids get the out of the footy season!
It’s a growing club and they need the facilities to allow them to grow
Please vote for sporting club infrastructure projects. To Cheltenham Junior Football Club supporters, please also support Mentone & St Bedes Amateur Football Club's Night the Light project
Well done, Peter ! :)
