For tens of thousands of years during eel migration season, clans gathered around the picturesque Lake Bolac. The tradition of the lake as a meeting place continues with 10,000+ visitors annually. The lake foreshore is 27km and a 5km formed track that connects the most popular areas of the lake is needed. This will provide a safe exercise area and enhance the reputation of the lake as a meeting place. The track will be used by visitors, locals, sporting clubs, school students and formal and informal local exercise groups. We aspire to have an annual fun run.

Lake Bolac is a very popular destination for locals and visitors, both National and International, whether it be for camping, boating, picnics, day trips, family gatherings, bird watching, fishing or relaxing. As a community we are very proud of our lake however, its facilities and infrastructure must be constantly improved in order to continue to attract users. By installing formed walking tracks not only will walkers/joggers be safer, but the numbers of people visiting the lake recreationally will increase. The benefits of this are improvements in the health, well-being and harmony of our local community as well as improved economy.
