The project is the extension to the existing Toomuc Valley Reserve bike and walking path for use by the general public. The project includes the development of a shared path, the first stage of which will continue the existing path along Toomuc Valley Road at Syme Road and extend to Browns Road. The second later stage will then join Brown Road to the Cardinia Aqueduct Trail. The path will also have park benches, signs and guardrailing. We believe this project is much needed to address important community issues (especially with proximity to schools) and recreational benefits.

The project will benefit the community by improving safety, supporting healthy living, social cohesion & recreation. The direct community benefit comes from safe pedestrian and bike access along Toomuc Valley Road, keeping cyclists and walkers off the dangerous roadside verge. With a significant growth in residential development around this location, the path extension will provide much needed green space to enjoy healthy walking, bike trail riding, further up the valley. The path aligns with Council's aim to link bike paths across the Shire, while also opening up the opportunity to link with the under-utilised Cardinia Aquaduct Trail.

The Toomuc Valley Reserve is a beautiful area for families to spend time, keeping active walking or riding their bikes with the children.
The bike / walking path through Toomuc Valley Reserve could use some extensions and fix ups and I think this project will be well utilised by all in the Cardinia Shire Council.

Great idea. Extension to Cardinia Aqueduct Trail sounds good too, alghough I prefer it being under-utilized. ;-)

Much needed upgrade to amenities along Toomuc Valley Road. Will improve pedestrian and cyclist safety along this stretch of road , as well as maximising a natural amenity.

How wonderful it would be to have a path. It is so dangerous along Toomuc Valley Rd to walk or ride a bike. We need this urgently as it’s been in the pipeline since my kids were little. It would get so much use from both directions for sure 👍 country to town or town to country 👍

Toomuc Valley is a beautiful area but unfortunately is underutilized as it is very very dangerous to ride a bike or walk along the road. The extension of the path is an excellent initiative and i would like it to extend all the way up to at lease Hein Road in the short term

This extension would be well used by the school, walking and bike riding groups as well as runners, who already use the original section for Park Run on a Saturday morning, where they get over 100 people every week.

I feel it is urgent that the existing path along Toomuc Valley Road at Syme Road and extend to Browns Road. Many children walk and ride to Beaconhills College and it is dangerous for them to ride/walk this road. With over 1700 students on campus, it is an important message to encourage walking and cycling given the current obesity numbers in children. I would love this path to extend Brown Road and to the Cardinia Aqueduct Trail. Many cyclists ride around this area and blind corners, hills and narrow roads make it extremely dangerous. Let's get everyone active, healthy and most importantly SAFE.

This path is an essential part of Cardinia Council's Strategy walking and cycling but we can't wait for Council to build every bit of infrastructure needed in our community. Simon and his Toomuc Valley resident are prepared to lead the way - and we all need to support them. More great paths means safer people - whether students, athletes, strollers, riders, disabled, young and just a bit older. Safe healthy outdoor environments leads to safe healthy communities - and we need them. Help make this path a reality now. (This is not a paid announcement - just a note from an oldie who realizes the importance of an active lifestyle.)
