As a community-minded youth movement based in the Macedon Ranges and the next generation of community leaders, The Field Trip has identified a need for more affordable housing for those who need it: our local and growing homeless community. We would like to build a tiny house for someone who needs a home but can't afford it. We will work with community partners, including neighbourhood houses, to determine the ideal location for the tiny house and how it will be allocated. This tiny house will inspire more affordable accommodation to come, an example in the regions for others to follow.

Building a tiny house as affordable accommodation for those who need it will serve the local community directly, providing those in need with an option for shelter and a warm place to stay. The project will also serve as an example throughout the shire and surrounding regions to inspire more affordable housing, to build on the concept and provide more housing options for local homeless, students, senior citizens and others who require accommodation but simply can't afford their own home. This is about leading the Tiny House movement to help locals, the people of Victoria and Australia.

Paul Kooperman's 'The Field Trip' Program continues to develop learning and leadership opportunities for young people that are world class. While school system's struggle to develop curriculum that incorporates students agency and student voice, The Field Trip has these elements as their core business. Anything 'The Field Trip' does has my endorsement as a vehicle capable of developing tommorrows leaders. Definitely worth a vote !- Steve Carroll (VCAL Co-ordinator Castlemaine Secondary College)
