Thomastown Community Garden and Gathering Space

A community garden and gathering space, based in the heart of Thomastown, attached to Thomastown Primary School. A place where community ownership matters, where a garden and market space can be established and residents can socialise and enjoy activities in Thomastown.
The site has a large lockable shed, toilet, tank and some fruit trees.
Thomastown Neighbourhood House already delivers a range of community engagement events and social enterprise programs. The gathering space will be a welcome addition to a suburb that lacks spaces for families and local residents to gather and connect, play, cook, grow produce and host local talent.

There are limited spaces to gather in Thomastown and none that are community run and owned. A Facilitator will welcome all commers to the space and assist in the formation of a resident based Committee of Management.
The space will offer dynamic opportunities for the community to enjoy an outdoor community space with shade and shelter, a community garden with a kitchen space for cooking and sharing meals, a market area and outdoor performance space. The community benefit will be pride of place, a place to connect, reduce isolation and skill share with gardening, cooking and performing.
