This Farm Needs A Farmer will create opportunities for our retired/retiring/semi-retired, generational and working farmers to assist, support and guide new-comers to regional/rural communities who are wanting to learn how to run their properties. With young families looking to leave the city life behind and wanting a simpler life to raise their children, there is a large movement of 'Tree Changers' making the move to pursue country living dreams. Key activities to support their success and prevent isolation are, casual meet-and-greets at the local pubs, hands-on workshops, on-farm workshops, farm tours, one-on-one connection facility, field day's and local event attendance.
Hand me down knowledge has skipped a generation and this project aims to facilitate community connections that would otherwise not be possible. Asking for help and offering help, not knowing if it's wanted, is extremely difficult. That's where This Farm Needs A Farmer can bridge the knowledge gap. Our farmers are the key to our history and by connecting them with newcomers to regional/rural properties, and sharing the wisdom that comes from years of working the land, will ensure costly mistakes aren't made, the environment is protected and a thriving economy is created and safeguarded for our future generations.

What a brilliant idea - a great way to preserve and pass on important knowledge, and to share across the generations. Good Luck!

Great way to support farming and farmers. Will ensure animals are properly looked after.
